Motivation With Sean and Dave of the Scottish Improvement Project (Part 2) – 055
In Episode 55, Jenny and I continue our chat about motivation with Sean and Dave from Scotland who also have a podcast which is also called The Improvement Project.
We continue our random banter with all sorts of fun personal development tidbits as well as random hilarity. They are pretty great! We also answer another listener question about motivation to get up early to go to the gym.
Tune in and Listen Below
What You’ll Hear (and don’t want to miss!)
1:20: Jenny and I introduce this week’s podcast which is Part 2 of a podcast that was recorded a few weeks ago for The Improvement Project (the Scottish version with Sean and Dave)
1:55: The beginning of the second part of Sean and Dave’s podcast where we continue chatting with them. We pick up where we left off last week.
11:57: After a bunch of random nonsense, Sean reads the question for today’s podcast from their listener Rebecca. She asks: “I’m trying to start a new workout routine, where I wake up before 5am and attend a yoga class at my gym, but I can’t seem to get over the first hurdle – getting out of bed. On top of that, I have to drive to my gym – I tell myself it doesn’t seem worth it. How can I motivate myself to make this routine?” We all discuss and then offer some advice on how we would handle this challenge.
16:04: I geek out while sharing some of my online pretend best friend, Gretchen Rubin’s work and then I share her 4 Tendencies framework. Sean and Dave got a bit pumped about taking the quiz.
41:40: After a bunch more random conversation we wrap and offer some quick potential solutions to answer to Rebecca’s motivation challenge. It came down to Accountability, Removing Obstacles, Changing environment and really digging into her ‘Why’ she wants to do the morning exercise. She could also break it down and take small steps toward the goal to build momentum.
44:55: Sean wraps it up and we say good bye
46:30: Jenny and I wrap it up and give you a sneak peek into what we will be talking about next week
