Let’s Talk About Meditation

In this episode 007, we are in week 2 of the meditation and mindfulness challenge and it’s time to check in and see how things are going!  We discuss the basics of meditation and how we are feeling a week into the challenge.  We introduce a mindfulness exercise using your non-dominant hand and we also ask the question:“Do you like abundance vs simplicity, do you like a lot of choices or few choices?” Both of us are diggin something beauty related this week.

Key Quotes:

“Do you know how three days a year you get a good night’s sleep? And you wake up and feel like “Oh, this is how I should feel all the time!” But you can’t get more than 3 good night’s sleep per year because of the circumstances of your life. Well, with TM (meditation) you can have that everyday.” Jerry is talking about a very specific type of meditation (transcendental meditation) but I think that the quote resonates for sure. Another quote from Seinfeld: “You Know That Tremendous Feeling Of Power When Your Phone Is Fully Charged?”– Jenny quoting and discussing Jerry Seinfeld’s take on the benefits of meditation.

“I just feel a little bit calmer”– Peggy describing how meditation makes her feel.

“I feel like meditation slows things down.  I notice more.  I’m more present in my daily life.  I’m not just going through the motions. It is the one habit that makes it (routine) feel less like drudgery” -Jenny describing how meditation makes her feel.

“It’s a 10 minute investment that pays off all day” – Jenny’s pithy quote on meditation
